Art is for Everyone.

The Tacony LAB Community Art Center offers free adult art classes, walk-in open studio sessions, and classes for children.  All are welcome.
Founded by Mural Arts Philadelphia in 2017 in partnership with Councilman Bobby Henon, the Tacony CDC and funded by the City of Philadelphia, the Tacony LAB Community Arts Center brings the neighborhood and the arts together to create a hub for learning, creativity, and community engagement in Northeast Philadelphia.

Mural Arts Philadelphia Tacony LAB, offers many different project based art classes to the public free of charge. Check our Events Page to see our upcoming classes.
The artist-in-residence program anchors professional artists in the community by providing them with studio space at the Tacony LAB. During their residencies, the artists work with the community to develop public art as well as use the studio to create their own art work. The Tacony LAB welcomes community input and participation.

The Tacony LAB Community Art Center is wheelchair accessible.

Thank you to everyone who helped to celebrate our Five year Anniversary!

New Artist Residency!
We just released a request for applications for a new artist residency in partnership with Riverfront North Partnership for Winter/Spring 2023.

The goal of this artist residency is to create a new piece of public art and engage the Middle and Lower Northeast communities with the changing riverfront and Greenway Trail.  This includes the Kensington and Tacony (K & T) portion located in the Tacony neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia along the Delaware River.

With a new section of trail breaking ground in Fall 2023, we look to this residency to focus on the diverse history of the present day Greenway, including the Lenni Lenape origins, of these lands. Resident artist/s will be responsible for planning and leading collaborative creative activities.
